Welcome to #MLLChat_BkClub 6.0
with
The ESL/ELL Teacher's Survival Guide.
We've been on a bit of a hiatus because I will openly admit this year has been more than challenging. But, I am excited to get back into the swing of things with a new round and with some new features.
If you have participated in a previous round of our book chat, welcome back! If this is your first time joining us, I'd like to be the first one to say we are SO glad you're here!
This site serves as a one stop shop where you can locate everything you need to participate in our slow chat. All information will also be posted on Twitter, where the chat takes place. Our slow chat is intentionally designed to be asynchronous in order to afford participants the flexibility to chime in when they can. Whether you are an early bird or a night owl, you can join in and learn at your convenience. All you need to do is make sure to use the following hashtags when you post:
#MLLChat_BkClub 6.0
#ESLsg
If you want to see what others are saying about the book and what they're learning, simply search those hashtags on Twitter and you will find all the Tweets.
Our reading schedule is a suggested pace for reading the book, but we all know that (teaching) life gets busy, so there is no pressure to keep up. Go at your pace and engage in a way that works for you. For this large resource, I suggest you find a reading path that works best for you.
Because there are options for which/how many chapters to read each week, we will be using the LEARN acronym to respond and reflect on what we read.
The interactive notebook below, which will also be linked on Twitter, contains our reading schedule, suggested ways to respond to the weekly readings, and more! Click through the pages to see all the information.
